Renewed: The Amazing World of Gumball

Cartoon Network has renewed kid’s animated series The Amazing World of Gumball for a fourth and fifth season.

The series, which follows the Watterson family, their walking, pet goldfish and a fearless blue cat, now airs in 126 countries and has won several BAFTA Awards.

Cartoon Network has commissioned 40 x 22-minute more episodes, with production to take place at Cartoon Network’s studio in Shoreditch, London. Created by Ben Bocquelet the series combines live action with 2D and 3D animation.

“The Amazing World of Gumball is one of the few animated family sitcoms for kids that offers a warm hearted, sweet and surreal, child-like perspective on everyday life in a way that kids and their families can relate to. Gumball’s funny storylines, great characters and unique visual style continues to resonate strongly with audiences around the world,” said Patricia Hidalgo, Senior Vice President and Chief Content & Creative Officer Kids, Turner Broadcasting.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with our fantastic team for two more seasons of The Amazing World of Gumball. We have big plans for the show and are already preparing new episodes. Season three will premiere in Australia this July on Cartoon Network.
