  1. I hate when they show promos for other shows during the credits.

It was so cute to have that young kid read out his letter over the credits, and last week someone complained the show ended too soon

    LOL

  2. Its not too bad on ABC tv but I don’t know why the producers of television shows allow the squishing of credits and loud voice-overs. Its basically a big FU to the creators, actors and crew of a body of work basically says “our promo of our reality crap is more important than our audience or the people who contributed to produce this piece of tv.”

And its all so badly targetted, desperate and often not even accurate, due to their ADHD red cordial programmers. I mean showing Laura Bingle promos during Dexter or showing House Husbands promos within a Top Gear episode – I mean come on!

  3. OK I’ve got a silly question: if people are on their digital devices using twitter how are they meant to read the twitter hashtags or the like during the shows that have them if they aren’t even looking at the screen due to being on their digital device?

At least Lateline doesn’t annoy people not using twitter with a physical manifestation of it. But instead wisely verbally tell people about it. Plus list it in their EPG. The Checkout does the latter but not to former. I guess they expect twitter users to both look at the TV screen and the digital screen at the same time. Which is a neat trick. One I’ve never managed unless they time looking up right. Plus have a great memory sometimes.

  4. On the squashing the credits thing I obviously don’t like it or respond too well to it. I prefer full credits. If you have to do something funny with the credits then I prefer the show doing it. Like with Foreign Correspondent and it showing pictures of the place plus the credits. I don’t mind At the Movies playing a clip of a film. I also liked it when one of the Chasers did a segment during the credits.

The next I can live with is voice overs. It gets a bit tedious if done all night. But these days I don’t stay all night due to something worse than squish the credits. At least with squished credits I can predict them and flick off even temporarily. Some things I can’t predict so I cut back.

I’m guessing the reason they mess up the credits is because some of the audience won’t sit through them. Like at the cinema. So that’s why they do it.
