Thunderbird 1 is go!

Here's a first look at the new Thunderbird 1 which will feature in Thunderbirds Are Go!

TB1_hollywoodITV Studios has released a photo of the new Thunderbird 1 which will feature in Thunderbirds Are Go!

The rocket maintains its distinctive silver bullet style which many fans will remember from the original series.

ITV Studios and New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures in association with Weta Workshop are producing the rebooted series, which will premiere internationally in early 2015, and is set for GO! in Australia.

Giles Ridge, Executive Producer said; “Thunderbirds Are Go! pays tribute to the original series whilst delivering a dynamic action-adventure to thrill a new generation. The iconic characters, craft, music and story elements of the original have been lovingly re-imagined for a 21st century audience. The series will showcase the world famous Pukeko Pictures and Weta Workshop’s ground-breaking creative and technical excellence.”

The reboot will use a mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets.

  1. Thank God, something to watch next year while waiting for GoT S5 to finish on Foxtel!

    I’m with Jezza, the puppets could out-act many humans, I’m betting they still can.

  2. I have always felt that the puppets in the original TB were far better actors than many of their human counterparts. The eyebrows and facial expressions were sublime

  3. I hated that show when I was a kid, it creeped me out. I thought the marionettes were disturbing and the whole show was crap. I can’t believe it now has iconic status and I don’t think the now generation will take to this new incarnation at all.
