Doctor Who: teaser

Video: New vision and new hints on what's coming for the good Doctor.

2014-07-05_1852BBC has released a new teaser for Doctor Who, “Deep Breath” which airs in late August.

The episode features a Dalek voice telling the Doctor, “I see into your soul Doctor, I see beauty, divinity, hatred!”

Stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman will be attending the a red carpet premiere in Cardiff on August 7, with lead writer and producer Steven Moffat.

BBC Wales Director Rhodri Talfan Davies said: “Doctor Who is getting even bigger and even better – and it’s a real thrill that the show’s fans here in Wales will be the very first to see the new Doctor at this very special premiere screening. Doctor Who has been made in Wales for almost ten years – and we’re so proud of its worldwide success.”

Meanwhile writer Frank Cottrell Boyce, known for his work in children’s fiction and who collaborated with Danny Boyle on the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, has written an episode.

Cottrell Boyce added: “I was flabbergasted to be asked to write an episode – partly because I’ve been so absorbed in the last few series that I’d sort of forgotten that it wasn’t real.

“Of all the thrills that pen and paper have brought into my life, there’s nothing that quite compares to the buzz of unlimited possibility that rushes through your fingers and into your brain when you write the words: ‘Interior… TARDIS.'”

Doctor Who is born anew in the mind of a genius!” said Moffat. “Frank’s script is pure magic – and everything I could have hoped for from the genius behind the Olympics Opening Ceremony!”

The feature-length premiere will air on ABC1 on Sunday August 24.
