Ricky & Kylie hit Melbourne with their Voice finalists yesterday.

2014-07-17_0036Ricky Martin and Kylie Minogue hit Melbourne yesterday with their respective Voice finalists Jackson Thomas and Johnny Rollins, ahead of the show’s grand final next Monday night.

Martin and Thomas made an appearance high above the city at the Eureka tower, as the show filmed “home base” footage, before fans and media.

Thomas was originally selected by Kylie Minogue from the blind auditions, but was subsequently saved from elimination by Ricky Martin.

Thomas sang two ballads showing off his songwriting skills, but there was plenty of adoration for Ricky Martin who charmed the crowds from behind his sunglasses.

“He connects with people,” Martin told host Livinia Nixon. “He was being saved by the audience when he didn’t have to be saved. People were voting for him when they didn’t have to.

“(Jackson) has an amazing voice, a beautiful tone, and he connects his emotions. He looks into the camera and people understand where he’s coming from. That’s what I got from him when I needed to save him.”

Kylie Minogue and Johnny Rollins made an appearance at The Pier hotel in Geelong, again hosted by the hard-working Livinia Nixon.

Geelong turned out a bigger crowd thanks to local radio K-Rock, with both Minogue and Rollins presented with Geelong football guernseys.

Kylie embraced the crowd, happily sitting on the floor as Rollins performed and was even invited to a 6th birthday party by one pint-size fan.

“Apparently (Johnny) makes a really good coffee, and it’s a running gag with us that he is all talk and no action. So maybe he can do that while he’s home,” Minogue said.

The grand final takes place next Monday night on Nine.

“We get to sing a duet, which we have rehearsed. But I can’t tell you what it is,” she teased.
