Oops. “Ride” or “Bride?” Family Feud answer misheard, say viewers.

Video: Did Family Feud mishear an answer and deny a team the chance to win $10,000?

2014-07-29_0009As shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? know too well, the audience will call you out when they think you are not playing fair.

Last night a Family Feud contestant gave an answer to a question that appears to have been misheard by the show’s producers, and it was enough for the family to miss out on the $10,000 prize.

The question was simple enough: “Give me a word that rhymes with ‘Slide.'”

While the first Hocking family member said ‘Ride,’ second contestant Jo appeared to say ‘Bride’ and was buzzed ineligible, for repeating the previous answer.

But she passed and ran out of time before being able to offer a substitute.

In the end the family scored 159 points out of 200. With a non-answer for the final response, the family had no way to make up the 41 points.

On Twitter and Facebook some viewers suggested the show misheard her original “Bride” answer.

Connie Wilson: SHE SAID BRIDE!!!!! Not Ride!!!!

Britney Dolan: OBVIOUS ERROR on tonight’s show! The lady in the final round said “Bride” not “Ride”, which was an answer already given! This cost this family valuable points! Anyone else pick up on that?

Shelley Tillson: That woman tonight def said Bride not ride!!

Patrick Tuohy: Tonights episode had another mistake, she clearly said Bride, not ride that rhymes with slide

  1. Oh dear, last night it happened again. Name something kids didnt have 50 years ago. Telephone isn’t on the board but iPhone later is? If I said pass me my phone and there was an iPhone on the bench 100/100 people would pass me the iPhone.

  2. I thought this as well – we even went back and watched it a couple of times on the DVR – but was surprised that she didn’t really indicate this herself at the time. Not sure if they’ve been told not to correct anything, but I would have piped up and informed them of the error if one had been made!
