US comedy series Community has won a reprieve from its axing, with Yahoo throwing the series a lifeline.
Axed by NBC in May after five seasons, the series has now been rescued as an online series by Yahoo Screen for 13 episodes.
Creator Dan Harmon, the full cast and executive producers Chris McKenna, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster are on board.
“I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo,” Harmon said in a statement. “I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”
With Sony Pictures Television still producing the series there should be no change for Australian viewers, although that’s yet to be confirmed.

Best news I’ve heard all week, now we just need to hope we get it soon after it is released in the US.
Also what is great news is that the budget apparently won’t be reduced.
Six season and a movie!
