One of my favourite dramas of 2013 Ray Donovan makes its return later this month on Showcase.
Joining this season are Hank Azaria, Sherilyn Fenn, Ann-Margret, Kip Pardue, Wendell Pierce and Vinessa Shaw.
But it’s a bit disappointing this won’t be Express from the US like other premium titles.
It will screen Mondays from July 28 at 9.30pm, 2 weeks after its US return.
The second season of the acclaimed drama comes to show case. Starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Liev Schreiber as the go-to guy who makes the problems of the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear; Ray Donovan is a thrilling drama that saw its first season being named one of Most Exciting New Series by the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

What is with foxtel’s inability to fast track programs? Ray Donovan it seems is the latest to be not screened within hours of the US, and for a 2 week delay??? Same goes for Fox8 with Hannibal Season 2, and The Bridge(Fx) Season 2, within 5 days of US air date! It is like Foxtel spent a fortune on the Game of Thrones Fasttracking(which was 2 hrs after US) and they can’t afford to fasttrack any other programs.
If they want to get new customers, this surely is not the way to go about getting customers, who are going to probably find other ways of watching it.
What the hell am I paying for. Have they given a reason why it won’t be ‘express from the US’. Give yourself an uppercut Showcase.
Ray Donovan and The Bridge and The Strain are all missing opportunities by having them on long delays rather than same day. I hope this wont be a trend in Foxtel expressing less shows. it sucks when you think last year Ray Donovan and the Bridge were express with Bridge just 2hours after the US and Ray Donovan just over a day [Showcase was packed with Dexter, True Blood and something else on the monday]
I hope Penny Dreadful gets a start date soon. and i dont think Showtime US are asking too much when SBS are showing Masters of Sex express. Im sad at more shows getting delayed again.
Good news! Very underrated drama.
Disappointed too about the slow tracking but getting used to most things Showtime being treated as a poor man’s HBO.
Penny Dreadful anyone? Nurse Jackie? Californication? Episodes? House of Lies?
Penny Dreadful is the only one there that is tied to Showcase’s HBO deal. The rest are elsewhere, but yes I do have some qs too. Looking into the express strategy, expect a story soon.
