2014-07-29_0040The Walking Dead will be express from the US to Australian audiences in October.

FX confirms the new season will premiere Monday, October 13 in all of its 125+ markets, which is the same day as its US premiere, October 12 (US dateline).

As in previous seasons, the series’ fifth season of 16 episodes will air in two-parts with the first eight hours kicking off October 13 and returning February 2015 with the final eight episodes.

A new trailer was also revealed at Comic-Con.

The zombie drama continues to break ratings records both domestically on AMC and worldwide across FIC’s 200 entertainment channels in 125 countries. Internationally Season 4 consistently ranked as the number one show on pay-tv, beating out all other competition in major markets and over-performing all prior season averages.

The series has garnered two Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-up, a Golden Globe® Award nomination for Best Television Series- Drama, a WGA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Writing Derivative New Media and most recently took out the Astra Award for Favorite Program – International Drama.

  1. I felt the last season dragged on a bit and Terminus was a bit of disappointment, in that it seemed like they have just swapped the prison/ governor for a new location/ enemy. I really hope this series the story can evolve. That being said, it is by far the most gripping drama on TV for me by a long way and I’m really looking forward to it.

    The episode with the two girls… that was tough to watch, but you couldn’t not watch. The writers really know how to keep you glued to the screen.
