I don’t usually file on movie reruns, but when I saw The Lighthorsemen listed on Channel 31 Melbourne’s upcoming schedule, I thought it was worth a mention.
The cast includes the late John Walton and Jon Blake (pictured).
The 1987 film stars Peter Phelps, Sigrid Thornton and Gary Sweet and is directed by Simon Wincer. It screens as part of C1’s Australian Classic Films season.
In the great Australian spirit of courage and high adventure comes a true Australian legend, from the creators of Phar Lap and The Man From Snowy River.Â
Sunday 8:30pm August 10th on C31.

Shame we do not have Community TV here in Hobart
Are TVS in Sydney running these Aussie Films. They might actually get a couple of viewers watching their station if they bothered to run these films.
Not sure. They don’t supply me any info. It’s harder to file on community shows when they are so localised, but I make the odd exception.
Great movie.
Jon & John were two of our finest actors.
