Interesting to see Family Feud topping Million Dollar Minute.

  2. radiC00l July 25, 2014 at 9:44 am -

@trev – either you’re extremely cynical or you work for ch9/7 PR (who have been almost gleeful about ch10’s problems).
Yes ratings will take a bit of a hit, but they won’t be as dire as you suggest. Struggle against SBS – well that’s showing your bias right there.
Apart from MC, Ten has had success this year across a range of shows – the project, offspring, the living room, family feud….Also coming up, the bachelor should well this year. People seem to ignore the fact that 9/7 rely very heavily on about 2 tentpole productions each – and even they’re getting a bit tired.

  3. trev July 24, 2014 at 9:13 pm -

Anyone who truly believes the 10 network is on the way back surely has a short memory.
When Masterchef first launched it had ratings well in excess of what it is currently now doing. there were also other back up programs that indicated all would remain on course when MC finished. It was common for TEN to win various nights and every now and then the odd week.

When MC finally ends this season,TEN’s ratings will return to normal and the network will be back in fourth place behind Aunty and at times struggling to keep its nose ahead of SBS as what occurred a few short years ago. One of the contributors to this website used the term ‘One Trick Pony’, Nothings changed.

The dull thud will be felt globally.

  4. MM July 24, 2014 at 7:51 pm -

Good to see master Chef do well, but it would be expected when its so close to the final, just wonder how 10 will go when that finishes. Poor ratings really for the voice kids, think it will have to improve next year which I believe they are asking for auditions now, most kids shows fall by the way side. Although the X factor does not have the high ratings like last year think it would be a shame not to continue as there is so much talent in Australia and this is the only way a lot of people can be heard.

    @ Jake S and @ David Knox

What else can we expect from the 3 big EPG offenders, perhaps these 3 commercial broadcaster’s joint venture ‘OzTam’ is waiting for the News Corp ownership change, and re-badging of our ABC.

Could the improvement of some of Networks Tens programmes, simply mean that Network Ten won this ratings period ‘Chook Raffle’???

  6. David Knox July 24, 2014 at 12:36 pm -

    Madness.

  7. Jake S July 24, 2014 at 12:22 pm -

I see OzTam is still rolling with ABC1

  8. WolfieBoy July 24, 2014 at 11:31 am -

What a fabulous night for Ten.
What makes me happy is that 7 & 9 can’t just arrogantly start new pgm.’s whilst M/Chef is in the final rounds. Has not happened to Ten for some years but they are coming back now. Viewers are sick of being treated like fools by 7 and 9. The last stroke for 9 will be that the Voice for Kids is being shifted to a later slot this Sunday :-(

Offspring close to 1 million is so good to see for this entertaining quality show.

Project also doing much better. :-)

Watched M/Chef, then Tour de France. Recorded Voice for Kids and XZFactor to view tonight.

  9. Mr_AJ July 24, 2014 at 11:08 am -

I say Criminal Minds goes to show how un-important fast-tracking is, in that 9 month old episodes can still get 700,000 viewers.
I mean, sure if 7 had fast-tracked the show it could’ve gotten somewhat higher figures, but with 7 holding it until they’ve got a gap in their schedule it’s still worked out fine for them.

  10. catherine July 24, 2014 at 10:58 am -

wow go MC. I wonder what the ratings were this time last year for the same episode. I reckon about half. But it goes to show you get the right people on the show and people will tune in. Also I think this season what I have liked is they havent gone overseas such as previous years. They have stayed local.

offspring was great with that little twist at the end.

  11. Den July 24, 2014 at 10:06 am -

Huh Offspring topped X Factor in all the demos

  12. DaveyBoy July 24, 2014 at 9:53 am -

Excellent figures for Criminal Minds, considering the 1st episode didn’t begin until 9:20.

  13. Dantheman84 July 24, 2014 at 9:48 am -

Another good night for ten. I see it backfired for nine by hurriedly putting in voice kids. I’m not sure it rated much better than the big bang repeats. X factor still did well which is good.
