Report: Joan Rivers hospitalised

Update: Legendary comedian Joan Rivers was rushed to hospital after she stopped breathing during surgery.

2014-08-29_0148Legendary comedian Joan Rivers, 81, was rushed to a hospital in New York City according to a report on TMZ.

The online site claims she was taken to hospital after she stopped breathing during surgery on her throat.

Rivers was repotedly undergoing a throat procedure on her vocal chords when she stopped breathing during the surgery.

Sources say she was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital with daughter Melissa said to be on her way to New York.

There was no immediate word on the condition of Rivers, who lives in Manhattan.

Rivers has had a busy week, with Fashion Police specials on both the VMAs and Emmys back to back.

Update: “This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to. Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support.   1. It’s not unusual for minor procedures to be performed in clinics in the US and this appears to be the case here.

    Terrible news for such an iconic and influential figure of the entertainment industry. It’s a rare for someone to have had so many career resurrections and for her to be at the peak of her popularity now just goes to how hard she has worked over many year. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery

  2. So … if she was “rushed to hospital” while undergoing throat surgery …. I’m curious as to where she was having this procedure done? In the comfort of her own home?
