Vale: Thea Kouznetsoff

Nine CEO pays tribute to a receptionist who has been at TCN9 for more than 25 years.

2014-08-28_1231Nine CEO David Gyngell has paid tribute to a long-term colleague, receptionist Thea Kouznetsoff, who would be a familiar face to many who have visited TCN9 over the past 25 years.

In an email to staff today, he said:

It is with profound sadness that I have to inform you of the sudden passing overnight of Thea Kouznetsoff.

Tragically we’ve lost Thea at the age of only 56 to a heart attack. Its beyond sad.

Thea has been part of the Nine family for more than 25 years brightening our lives every day from her station at reception. Her vibrancy and fantastic humour could lift your spirits on the toughest day, like so many of us she was always one of the first faces I saw when I came to work each morning and she always made me feel better about the day ahead.

It is an understatement to say she’ll be sorely missed by all of us at Nine. Please join me in extending our sympathies to Thea’s family and friends at this time. We should all spare a thought today for a really special woman and colleague. Thea will remain in our hearts.

  1. that is just dreadful news, I have worked for and with channel nine on and off for the last twenty years and Thea was always up for a chat and always happy and cheerful. she’ll be greatly missed

  2. The NRL Footy Show have just paid tribute to her. It’s good to see them pay tribute to someone from “behind the scenes”. It was a small touching tribute to her

  3. Well said Scott. Thea was an amazing bubbly person who could lift anyone’s spirits. An incredibly generous girl who we will miss so very much. An angel. It was lovely to see Thea remembered so aptly. Bless her family at this time.

  4. I’d just like to say that it’s nice to see Nine management recognising not only on-screen talent. This gives me a back little faith in the current state of humanity.
I’d like to send my condolences to Thea’s family as well.
