Airdate: The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2014

Tomorrow night ABC airs the annual Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which took place in early August.

The tattoo normally airs as part of New Year’s but may well be repeated in the festive season.

A time-honoured annual event, each and every Edinburgh Military Tattoo is different from the last, but equally or more spectacular. The 2014 Edinburgh Military Tattoo which screens Saturday, September 13 at 8.30pm on ABC celebrates Our Home, Friends and Family.

Taking place against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and performed in front of a live audience, the Tattoo features a superb combination of music, dance and precision display with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines, cultural troupes, and singers.

Hundreds of Commonwealth participants play a part in this year’s Edinburgh Military Tattoo showcasing the talents of musicians and performers from every corner of the globe. International guest countries this year include Malta, South Africa, New Zealand and Singapore and each provides a dazzling and awe-inspiring show of talent.

In keeping with tradition and paying homage to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo’s Scottish foundations, the kilt-wearing Lone Piper performs in a spine-tingling and moving finale.
