Why do shows start at 8:40 instead of 9:00? What is on from 8:00 to 8:40? I live in the US and watch BBAU on YouTube. Looking forward to this season.
I honestly thought Big Brother wouldn’t screen this year because of the might of the Block, The Voice and the The Voice Kids (rolls eyes). 8:40/9pm starts are stupid when this is one of your flagship brands Nine.
These times are a disaster for the production who rely heavily on a Live audience. Good luck getting 1500 people to Coomera to watch a show at 8.30 pm on a Monday and tuesday night during school term. The shows will have to be taped and turned around or they will have a very small audience if really Live. Also these shows aren’t going to finish till around 9.45 or more likely 10pm. The bell tolls.! More schedule changes coming for sure.!
So this means that 9’s primetime will will be solely comprised of BB, The Block, the NRL and 60 minutes. Now I understand why BB is on 6 nights a week but I hope this bites 9 in the butt.
Thanks for the update David. Can’t wait. Has The Block got much longer to go? Will it return to an earlier time slot when The Block finishes? I wish they’d go back to Sunday night evictions. I hope it will have more adult content at the later time slot.
That is a strange schedule for Big Brother due to The Block, NRL Finals and Cricket.
cant believe they bring this junk back sure theres better programes put on
reality overload = yes.
But I guess the later starts and different nights to the eviction and nominations shows should add a slight change in format in the show.
I guess I won’t be watching Nine much in the coming weeks then….:p
Can’t wait till next week. The Block & Big Brother great combo 4 me. Hope it does good.
Thanks for the heads up David, now I know that its safe to ignore the Nine EPG for the rest of this year.
@andrew_83 football will be in semi finals by then and they are usually played on a saturday and sunday anyway with the grand final on a sunday afternoon/evening so it shouldnt interfere with the football at all
Can’t wait! Hopefully directed more at adults now with the lat e time starts.
The block then bb… Bring on next week!!!
Will the show be on GO! on Fridays? They have Friday night football in NSW.
well with this late evening schedule this is the end of big brother.
These start times seem really odd. Nine have spent the last 2 years turning Big Brother into a family friendly reality show and now this year they’re screening it most nights at the non family friendly time of 8:40pm. Is nine now wanting to make the show more of an adults only show again?
Seems silly that the most important footy time of the year the footy show would move to 9:40. Not sure what else 9 can do though…
Fabulous! This is where it should be (later evening is much better suited!)
…now we just need Go! to screen a late night live feed and this would be perfect…
Ewwwww
