New Idea apology to Chrissie Swan

"In a miraculous turn of events New Idea apologised to me," says a gracious Chrissie Swan.

2014-08-22_1946Chrissie Swan has received a rare apology from a woman’s mag after New Idea apologised for using light-hearted quotes by her radio co-host, Jane Hall, and attributing them to her.

“I’m supposed to be hating on my thighs,” Swan said today on her MIX FM radio show.

“Everybody knows I love myself and I would never say terrible things about my body like that.

“The article said all sorts of things about me hating my body which I did not say.

“Now many, many people in these magazines have problems with what is said about them but nobody ever gets an apology.

“But in a miraculous turn of events New Idea apologised to me for attributing all these comments that I did not say.

“They apologised, they said ‘I’m sorry I got it wrong’.

“It’s an absolute miracle.”

“It’s a little win for women and self image and stuff and I accept the apology.”

“There are a number of quotes that were mistakenly attributed to Chrissie Swan which we would like to correct,” New Idea said in a statement to the Herald Sun.

“Such as; referring to her thighs as being repulsive and like a tub of cottage cheese, being confronted by her body image in the mirror, and spending all her pay on treatment for cellulite.”

The magazine said the quotes were made as part of light-hearted banter with Swan’s radio co-host Jane Hall.

“Unfortunately, we were mistaken when we attributed those remarks to Chrissie.”

  1. How pathetic is NI, why say these things in the first place and why do these mags continue to be trashy and unprofessional not to mention hurtful. Good on you Chrissie for your self worth and great attitude. Which idiots get to write these articles and they actually get paid for writing lies?
