Tonight the NRL Footy Show turns 21.
According to Nine the show first premiered in Finals Week back in 1994. Hosts were Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin, Peter ‘Sterlo’ Sterling, and Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach with regular appearances by Ray Hadley.
Vautin remains the sole original cast member and tonight is joined by Jarryd Hayne, Slats, Erin, Beau, Brett Finch and The Big Marn to celebrate.
As part of the special 21st birthday celebrations, Today Show co-host Karl Stefanovic will check in with the Roosters’ longest serving player, Anthony Minichiello, about what retirement at the end of his 15th season in first grade rugby league will mean to him and his family.
Beau jumps “The Ditch” and heads to Auckland for a local karva drinking ritual with Warriors legend Manu “The Beast” Vatuvei. We will also see whether Beau Knows Bungee as he attempts a bungee jump high enough to completely freak him out.
Darryl “The Big Marn” Brohman returns with Small Talk, Erin Molan delivers another hilarious edition of the Molan Files, and more NRL big guns line up for Player Probe, as well as sharing their favourite Footy Show moments over the past 21 years.
Beau and Eric Grothe Jr then catch up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Will Arnett and Megan Fox – dressed as turtles.
Thursday, September 11, at 9.40pm on Nine.

LOL. Pay that.
I ran the info provided by the release because Wiki also said otherwise.
If it’s 21 years then Nine might need to realise the show started at Finals Week in *1993*
Who Cares??????
That would be the people who have been watching for 21 years. Pretty obvious I would have thought?
Gotta say not much has changed, other than most of the cast, in 21 years…..same lame jokes, same head wobble….just same, same, same.
If it wasn’t for the AFL Show in the same slot south of the border, it may very well have been axed by now.
Get this (swear word) off the air.
