Update: Ripper Street

TEN yanks tonight's Ripper Street for a Wonderland replay.

2014-02-27_1608Sorry Ripper Street fans.

TEN has just pulled tonight’s episode and replaced it with a Wonderland replay at 10:35pm.

Not ideal to do at short notice.

It’s still in the schedule for next Thursday night at the moment.

  1. So desperate to get new viewers onto their shows. Everyone is setup to record Ripper Street and they change it to Wonderland. The guide next week shows Episode 2 of the season. So what we just miss out on episode 1 now? Either put the show on or don’t bother, make a decision one way or the other. I can’t tell you how many shows 10 has ruined by this chopping and changing business over the years. I remember they put Veronica Mars onto their digital channel and off of 10 analog way back 5 years or so ago. I went out and bought a digital set top box just for that show. Then they never completed running the series. 9-90-99 is the best, 7-72-73 is great, 10-11-12 is the worst network for stuffing people around in my opinion.

  2. Then if they dumped Ripper Street for only one night either they lost the episode, decided that the Friday night movie would make Wonderland repeat to late, or they want to mess with Ripper Street so that Wonderland viewers don’t get comfortable relying on the Friday night repeat.

It took them a week to delete all the Saving Grace episodes from the TV listings after they deleted from lunch time and moved them to late at night.

  3. Extremely disappointed Ten.Ripper Street is an excellent show for people with a brain who want quality shows not mindless rubbish. Very poor excuse. We will not be watching Ten tonight and hope you come to your senses and bring this very watch able and clever series back again next week.

  4. Every Thursday Ten adds a repeat of Wonderland to their schedule so that people who missed it on Wednesday can catch it (without giving people the option not to watch on Wednesday night).

Usually they dump the late movie on Friday but this week they have decided that Ripper St was doing so badly they would dump that.

Having dumped Ripper St it is highly unlikely it will be on next week, they just haven’t updated the TV guides for next week yet. They may have somewhere else they want to show it, or could show it over Summer.

Or it could just go onto the pile of dumped shows that will be used to fill a hole in their schedule sometime. Like Eureka S5 which we had to wait 2 1/2 years for or Friday Night Lights S5 which we are still waiting for the rest of.

  5. @Matthew See – it got saved by Amazon as I meant S2
@Angela – Sleepy Hollow is now on 11. I am surprised they haven’t moved Extant and RS should stay in the one slot.

Has it been moved to Fridays

  6. I don’t watch Ripper Street, but feel for those who do. Why on earth would TEN pull it with only 9hrs notice, just to repeat a woefully rated drama which would better be suited to rerun on Eleven.

  7. Why do this, especially after only one ep?
Not a bad show and certainly far better than most of the other rubbish Ten chooses to air … the woeful Wonderland immediately springs to mind.

As @William said, it is only a short season on in a late time slot anyway, so why not just let it be?
One of the few shows I have been watching on Ten.

Guess they will do the same thing to Sleepy Hollow if it comes back…

  8. Why why Ten? You should have left it their and continued until the series finale as there is only 8 eps or so. They better play double ep to make up for it next week
