4 new Housemates to enter Big Brother

Big Brother finally agrees it's time to shake things up.

2014-10-24_2049Nine is promising a “new era” of Big Brother from Monday with 4 new “powerhouse” players to enter the house on Monday.

A promo indicates “It’s time to shake things up. Four new powerhouse players are here. They’re the four next door. Four new forces to be reckoned with. New blood, new energy, a whole new era. The new housemates will change everything.”

With sliding numbers this should, in theory, be a good move. But it depends on who they are and the “power” play in force.

Earlier this week TV Tonight advocated for some older Intruders to confront the Gen Y ways of housemates, suggesting it was “Time to shake things up.”

8:30pm Monday on Nine.

  1. Boring!

BB, we told you what you need, Older (30-50 yo) housemates who can’t be eliminated for 3-4 weeks.

You did not listen, very silly decision!

  2. Disagree rob. Ten showed way more footage from the house and didn’t do twist after twist. And a better cross section of contestants. Up late was great. But nine has vacuous twenty somethings that are really really boring. And although I like sonia shes no gretel. Ten just seem better at casting reality tv. The bachelor was gold in that regard.

  3. We could put it back on Channel 10. Bring back Gretel, Friday Night Games, Up Late, Hot Dogs and Fryzie… Let’s be honest, it’s not the people or channel, its the format.

The UK started putting people in the house who had Tourettes and other things going on, whilst that was shocking, its not the type of step I see an Australian network taking, and other than something completely outrageous we are just going to end up with the same house full of people who are chasing their 5 minutes of fame and who are forgotten about before the season finale.

  4. Here’s an idea. How about some sort of competition for the housemates with the winner getting to dig for a key to the door out of there?

  5. The only gimmick that could save this season is to air the show with an M rating every night. Families with young children aren’t going to let their kids stay up past 10pm on a school night anyhow, so why are Nine insisting on a PG rating in an M timeslot?

  6. Desperate are we Nine? I think this is the end of BB on 9. It was nice knowing you. Ten is the home of BB not Nine. If the ratings don’t improve then it is goodbye

  7. Yes, desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess.

A little late in the season to be putting 4 new HMs in unless they’re planning to extend the season into the non ratings period.

Now that the contract with 9 is expiring, perhaps a golden opportunity here for10 to reclaim it and restore it to its former “glory”.

  8. “Time to shake things up” I don’t watch BB but all the adverts and promos I see for it makes it seem like they are having a “twist” every week, a “twist” or “shaking things up” no longer happens If.You.Expect.It.Every.Week.

Nine must be desperate, but that was obvious when last years winner went in in like week 2.

  9. I’ve never heard of a season having so many intruders arrive. How are viewers supposed to connect to the existing contestants when there are so many new people coming through this revolving door?
