Bumped: The Big Adventure

Seven has quietly reshuffled its high-profile series to 7:30pm start this weekend.

2014-10-13_0125Originally scheduled for 6:30pm this Sunday, Seven has quietly reshuffled its high-profile series The Big Adventure from a 6:30pm to 7:30pm start this weekend.

That moves it away from The Embassy but up against 60 Minutes (which rated higher than Embassy), Modern Family and even Doctor Who.

With $1M confirmed to be given away in the finale, the show needs to lift its viewing audience pronto.

Sunday Night resumes its 6:30pm timeslot so presumably Seven is hoping that will deliver the show a vested audience.

  1. A sad disappointment, really just a bad imitation of Survivor or The Mole.
Seven would have done better commissioning a new series of the Amazing Race Australia for 2015.

  2. Their contest show is getting flogged by Nine’s docudrama and their current affairs is being beaten by Nine’s.

So they will see if there are people are people who want to watch celebrity interviews instead of The Embassy or Scorpion and TBA instead of 60 Minutes.

It also means that TBA’s 90m is only pushing the flopping Resurrection later and not disrupting their entire Sunday night lineup. Monday’s ep is listed as 70m which should get rid of some of the waffling.

  3. I was really keen on this show but boy oh boy have they got it wrong. They spend way too much time with comments from the contestants telling us what we just saw. And usually its inane drivel like ‘I was really nervous’.

Then you get ‘Coming Up….’ I don’t need to watch the bloody thing in 3 second grabs before you show me the next section of the show. This is not the US and we don’t need to be told every single little bloody thing that happens. We can see it ourselves.

And the grid. Why bother burying the keys. You may as well have had a board where the contestant picked the number and you turned it around a la Wheel of fortune style. Watching 10 mins of someone digging sandcastles and pulling out ropes might be interesting once but every single show….

The thing that works with Survivor is the characters. There is nowhere near enough characters on this show and if…

  4. The Big Adventure has been a disaster. There is evidence that it has badly affected all of Seven’s other shows judging by the dramatic fall in the ratings for the station as a whole since TBA started. Seven, what were you thinking? Bump it to 7Two now.
