Cath Turner joins Seven News

Former Al Jazeera English correspondent Cath Turner is returning to Seven as part of the Seven News Sydney team.

Recently based in New York, she has 18 years experience reporting on some of the world’s biggest news events including two US presidential elections, the Boston Marathon bombings, the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

She was once a young producer and reporter in Seven’s Cairns and Sydney bureaus.

Seven’s Sydney News Director Chris Willis said, “It’s great to welcome Cath back to the Sydney newsroom. Her experience will only add to what is already a high quality team.”

“I’m really excited about returning to Channel Seven where it all began and working with such a quality news team,” Turner said.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my international reporting experience to the network.”
