Linda Evangelista is next guest judge Australia’s Next Top Model

FOX8 continues to lure the big names for its next season.

2014-10-24_1049Australia’s Next Top Model continues to lure the big names for its next season with Supermodel Linda Evangelista arriving next week to mentor and judge.

She follows a list of big names including Jean Paul Gaultier, Kelly Osborne and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Along with filming her guest role Evangalista will appear at Foxtel’s annual Upfront media event next Thursday in Sydney.

Host Jennifer Hawkins said: “The judges that Top Model have secured so far this season have been of such a high calibre and now we can claim Linda Evangelista as our next guest! She’s an icon in the modelling industry and a personal favourite of mine – I’m so excited to have her on the show, our girls are going to learn so much from her.”

After shooting for the late Gianni Versace in 1987 who referred to her as his only muse, Linda starred in fashion campaigns for Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Armani, Thierry Mugler, Donna Karan and Jean Paul Gaultier to name just a few.

She also appeared on the covers of every international fashion magazine including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Elle, Time, Interview, Newsweek, Rolling Stone and many more.

Following on from her unprecedented popularity in the late eighties/early nineties she became one of five models that the US media referred to as Supermodels and shot to such massive fame that they were known simply by their first names.

At the height of her success Linda cut her hair into a short bob causing a massive worldwide hair trend known as The Linda. The new style then became her most iconic look when she was photographed by Peter Lindbergh wearing a white shirt. This is the basis and theme of the photo shoot that she will help mentor the girls through on Australia’s Next Top Model before joining Jennifer Hawkins and Alex Perry on the judging panel.
