Returning: The Big Bang Theory

A new season finally gets underway on Nine next week, at 8pm Mondays.

2014-10-06_1111A new season of The Big Bang Theory finally gets underway on Nine next week, no doubt having had to wait for The Block to free up some space in the schedule.

The season premiere will screen at 8pm Monday October 13th.

“The Locomotion Interruption”
In the season return Leonard and Amy take an unexpected road trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon. Meanwhile, Penny interviews for a job at Bernadette’s company, and Howard is weirded out by Stuart’s relationship with Mrs. Wolowitz.

This aired in the US on September 22nd as part of a double episode premiere.

It will be preceded by a repeat episode at 7:30pm.

  1. Probably more like 8:06pm not 8pm, but that’s probably good as viewers are going to get these days. Nine didn’t have anywhere to show it while The Block and BB were doing well.

The first 3 seasons of TBBT are fairly well written and made. After it got renewed and made it to syndication Lorre concentrated on building his empire by getting Mike & Molly and Mom up, and dragging 2.5 men on and on. TBBT tends to run on the same old gags except for the sweeps eps when they put more effort in.

  2. God not this again, having re-runs mixed in with new eps only confuses (some) viewers, they see it as a re-run, tune out and miss the new ones.

Also it’s a shame Nine had to delay the season start knowing some viewers would find other ways to watch them. Don’t the realize some fans follow shows like this on social media and forums, and don’t want to be spoiled?

BTW – there are no laugh tracks on this show, the producers have gone to great lengths to prove that but if you’d even read a taping report you’d know that laughs are genuine.

@sherlock – as long as it makes Billions of dollars (yes Billions) for the network every year they are unlikely to cancel the show.

  3. Trouble with American shows, they don’t know when to quit, awhile their ahead, take look at Friends in the end it became boring, two half men-boring was not funny to begin with, When I met your mother-miss the mark.
Awhile others the writing had always continue to be good, MASH, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Dick Van Dyke Show, My Three Sons, just name a few.

  4. it good to see it back, however, I do feel putting on repeat first is wrong, I don’t watch ads waiting for new ep rather buy the series on DVD.

  5. @remote: i think the writing has been going downhill for some time! I don’t think it’s funny anymore. I think British humour generally requires a lot more intelligence and is therefore funnier. However, there are some American shows which are funny and much more subtle, like Modern Family.

  6. The laugh track on the new episodes seemed less subtle than they use to be or maybe the jokes just aren’t funny anymore? I guess that’s what happens to the writing when you pay the actors millions per episode.

  7. The repeat is the season finale from the year before so will serve as a good reminder of where we’re at. I don’t mind that at all as I never watch repeats.
