Veteran news presenter Rob Kelvin returns to Nine News this afternoon to present Adelaide’s local 5pm bulletin.
Tony Agars, Director of Nine News Adelaide, said: “It is an absolute honour to welcome Rob Kelvin back to the desk to present the local and important 5pm bulletin. It’s a further expansion of our ability to cover Adelaide’s news in the best and most comprehensive way.
“Rob is a man of great integrity and he has covered some of the biggest stories in our state’s history throughout his 36-years with Nine News.
“I’ve always admired his attitude and commitment to work, and by the fact he has always strived for the highest quality of journalism. He’s an important member of the Channel Nine family, and it’s great to have him back in the studio.”
Kelvin joined Nine in 1979, leading to a 20-year partnership with Kevin Crease as a top-rating news duo. Kelvin retired in 2010 but has contributed special interest stories.
“To return to the newsroom and present the 5pm bulletin is a great privilege,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time at Nine and I feel honoured to be offered the chance to return.
“I’ve watched Brenton Ragless and Kate Collins create a dynamic partnership at 6pm, and with the local 5pm bulletin Nine News really has Adelaide news covered.”

Interesting news schedule there. Anyone higher up at Nine pushing these recent changes?
Great to have Rob back. A true TV legend.
With due respect, this isn’t how to unearth new talent.
I saw him on the G10 bus the other day!
I assume the 6pm bulletin is still locally produced?
Rob is a fantastic newsreader. Will be great to have him back!
