Seven set for Telethon 2014

Seven stars are out in force this weekend in Perth for the annual Telethon, kicking off on Saturday night.

2014-10-23_2223Channel Seven Perth is gearing up for their biggest weekend of the year for the annual Telethon.

Since 1968 it has raised a staggering $154 million, as the the world’s highest fundraising telethon, per capita.

Network stars will be in attendance across the 24 hour event, screening from Saturday to Sunday nights.

“A team of more than 300 are working on Telethon over the coming weekend,” said Telethon CEO, Steve Mummery .

“Bringing this production together is a bit like putting 26 one -hour episodes of a series together – however we run them live, back- to-back,” he said.

Personalities giving up their weekend to fly from one side of the country to the other to help raise money include Rob Palmer from Better Homes and Gardens; Jason Dundas from The Big Adventure; Sally Obermeder and Tom Williams from The Daily Edition; Charlie Clausen, Kassandra Clementi, Jackson Gallagher, Isabella Giovinazzo, Cassie Howarth, Matt Little, Philippa Northeast, Johnny Ruffo and Nic Westaway from Home and Away; Joe Snell from House Rules; Simon Reeve from Million Dollar Minute; Candice Dixon, Nathan Morgan and Teigan Nash from Saturday Disney; Dr Andrew Rochford from National Seven News; Samantha Armytage, Natalie Barr, Edwina Bartholomew, David Koch and Molly Meldrum from Sunrise; Melissa Bergland, Nathin Butler, Sarah Grace, Paul Moore, Katherine Hicks and Nick Russell from Winners and Losers and Telethon Adventurers Ambassador, George Houvardas.

Local West Australians who appeared on our screens throughout the year, Carole and Russell from House Rules; Chloe and Kelly from My Kitchen Rules; Sally and Tyson and Inga and Tiharna from The Amazing Race – Australia v New Zealand will also appear on Telethon.

They will be joined by 7’s Perth stars – Rick Ardon, Susannah Carr, Basil Zempilas, Geof Parry, Geof Parry, Adrian Barich, Alexis Donkin, Ryan Daniels, Jessica Vanderende, Kate Smithers, Blake Johnson, Chantelle Toohey, Amelia Broun, Samantha Jolly, Rebecca O’Donovan, Rebecca Picton-King, Jordan Cutts, Rob Scott, Grant Wynne and Angela Tsun from Seven News Perth and Today Tonight’s Monika Kos, Mark Gibson, Graeme Butler, Alison Fan, Cassie Silver, Mark Readings, Syan Dougherty, Andrea Burns and Tina Altieri.

Plus many of Perth’s radio personalities from Mix 94.5, 92.9, Nova 93.7, 6PR, ABC720, 96FM and 6iX

Also making their way to Perth to perform are Justice Crew, The Collective, The Kin, Taylor Henderson, Bonnie Anderson, The McClymonts, Samantha Jade, Nathaniel, Damien Bodie, Brad Blaze and three of the Top 12 in this year’s The X Factor, Jason Heerah and Perth’s own Sydnee Carter and Reigan Derry.

    One 24 hr period schedule to change shouldn’t be that hard…should It?
