Marcia Strassman, best known for Welcome Back, Kotter and Honey I Shrunk the Kids, has died.

2014-10-27_2125Marcia Strassman, best known for Welcome Back, Kotter and Honey I Shrunk the Kids, has died, aged 66.

She died after a long fight with breast cancer.

She played Julie Kotter, wife to the Gabe Kaplan’s teacher on Welcome Back, Kotter. The series ran on from 1975-1979 and catapulted John Travolta to stardom. Her character regularly discussed school room problems with her on-screen husband.

Her other television credits included The Patty Duke Show, MASH, Ironside, Police Story, Marcus Welby MD, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Rockford Files, Magnum PI, ER, Booker, Touched by an Angel, Murder She Wrote, Rugrats, Baywatch, Providence, Tremors and Third Watch.

She co-starred opposite Rick Moranis in the 1989 film Honey I Shrunk the Kids and 1992 sequel Honey I Blew Up the Kid.

Other film credits included The Aviator, Another Stakeout and Earth Minus Zero.

  1. I remember her from Honey I Shrunk the Kids, when Rick Moranis played the nutty father, and the neighbours dad was kooky and the kids were in this surreal situation, she was the grounded person in the movie. She was great. Very sad to hear.
