Axed: Franklin and Bash

US dramedy Franklin and Bash will not proceed past its fourth season.

2013-11-14_0101US dramedy Franklin and Bash has been axed this week by TNT.

The series, which starred Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as free-wheeling lawyers, will not proceed past its fourth season.

Hollywood Reporter notes Franklin & Bash had benefited from the young-skewing nature of its viewership in the past, but the series’ audience had declined to an average of 1.2 million viewers total in its most recent season.

The show has aired in Australia on FX, including with “special guest star” Heather Locklear joining the cast.

  1. Not a surprise.

The first two series were fun and reasonably well written with a good balance between a legal plot and antics.

Last season was a mess with Locklear not working out and being dropped. This season has been tired and all over the place. Characters come and go and there’s only so many times they write a story about Peter hooking up with an old girlfriend who is the one who got away only to have her gone the next ep.

  2. Nooooo!! I love this show and it offers a real point of difference to other series in this genre, with only the likes of Suits and Psych offering anything similar. Actually it was funny to see in an episode of Suits a could of weeks ago a reference to Franklin & Bash because usually they only reference classical movies and shows. I guess F&B has made that list.
@ Jduder – completely agree dropping Pinder and Carmen really made the last season disappointing =(
