George Eads to exit CSI

Original cast member to depart CSI after 15 seasons.

2014-11-25_1214After 15 years George Eads will depart CSI in what is described as an amicable split.

Eads, one of the show’s few remaining original cast members, has played Nick Stokes since the pilot.

His departure comes after a leave of absence in 2013 following an on-set clash with one of the show’s writers, reportedly over the creative direction of his character. He returned following a temporary suspension, later that season.

The long-running procedural has seen many exits but remained on the CBS schedule: Paul Guilfoyle, who played Captain Jim Brass, left last year after 14 seasons. William Petersen and Gary Dourdan left after season nine. Marg Helgenberger departed after season 12; original cast member Jorja Fox has been both a regular (2000–2007, 2010–present) and recurring (2008–2010) cast member.

  1. George was the last fulltime cast member-Jorja effectively left the show after her character ‘sailed off into the sunset ‘with Willy P-her return as a regular was entirely unexpected.
