Back when Happy Valley was first reported as being scheduled at 8:30pm, I queried that this might not be the best timeslot, given the original BBC 9:00pm scheduling and the dark nature of the show. Otherwise the episodes might end up being cut. Well it looks this has indeed happened.

Episode running times are 58/57/58/50/52/52 minutes; with some severe cuts there, down from the original 58-59 minutes.
Its a shame that this exceptional drama couldn’t be better scheduled and shown in its entirety. I’m sure most viewers aren’t aware that they’re getting a cut-down version.

I’m glad ‘The Fall’ is being fast-tracked this morning, since it & ‘Happy Valley’ is on at the same time tonight. The ending to last week’s episode of ‘Happy Valley’ has me anticipating this episode a lot. And it was great to be able to view the season 1 finale of ‘The Fall’ on SBS last night just to refresh my memory.
