Veteran UK Warren Clarke, best known for Dalziel And Pascoe, has died, aged 67.
Clarke died after a short illness, his agent has confirmed.
Clarke played grumpy police detective ‘Dalziel’ for 46 episodes from 1996 to 2007.
In the 1960s, he played a number of smaller roles, including two characters in Coronation Street, before a featured role in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange as one of Malcolm McDowell’s thugs.
Other credits included The Jewel in the Crown, Inspector George Gently, Jennie, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Blackadder the Third, Lovejoy, Bleak House and Red Riding.
He recently appeared in Call the Midwife, Down to Earth, and his final role in a remake of Poldark, to be released next year.

Sad news-a great charact actor-one role not mentioned was as one of the younger generation in the popular and long running ‘Onedin Line’ later series.
Yep…GEM did…and acknowledge his passing at the beginning and the end…
They ran part 1 and 2..hope PVRs were adjusted..

That was a shock….apart from Dalziel and Pascoe…I really enjoyed the series he did with Pauline Quirke…..Down to Earth….
Sad loss….
GEM pulled D & P last week…I wonder if they will restore it again now….and we may see others with him in shown also…I hope.
RIP Warren…Dalziel and Pascoe remains one of my all time favourites.
