Victorian Election: ABC

Ian Henderson, Frances Bell and ABC Election Analyst Antony Green will lead ABC's Victorian Election coverage.

2014-11-21_1153ABC has now advised more detail of its Victorian Election Night Coverage on November 29th.

Continuing the leading coverage of Victoria’s election campaign, the ABC will have the most accurate and expert coverage and analysis on election night.

On election eve on Friday, November 28, ABC News Breakfast co-host Michael Rowland will be live from Victoria’s Parliament House, interviewing the party leaders, as it comes down to the wire.

6.00pm ABC (Victoria only)
ABC TV’s coverage begins at 6.00pm with host Ian Henderson, Frances Bell and ABC Election Analyst Antony Green. They will be joined by the political panel for the night, Victoria’s Liberal Minister, Mary Wooldridge and former Labor Victorian Premier Steve Bracks.

6.00pm AEDT ABC News 24 (National)
ABC News 24 will simulcast the Victoria Votes election broadcast, and will be streaming live at abc.net.au/news
The following morning join Barrie Cassidy on Insiders with the wash-up of the state election results at 9am (AEDT) on ABC TV and ABC News 24, and watch ABC 7pm News to get the full round-up of the day’s reaction and what it means for Victoria.

  1. One good thing to come out of digital TV is that the ABC (and other stations) can bump state election coverage to the digitals for people outside the state to watch. I live in Canberra and I remember the night of the 2007 NSW election (before digital TV) I wanted to watch it on the ABC but they didn’t have it on, they took the feed that Saturday night from Victoria. I thought it was strange as the local ABC also transmits into the NSW electorates of Monaro, Goulburn and Burrinjuck, all marginal seats.
