  1. @Joshbruni999 – for Christians Christmas represents a religious celebration. However, for the large number of Australians who are not Christian (40%) it is a cultural holiday.

The roots of Christmas are a hodgepodge of ancient festivals, traditions & religions.

Christian denominations now choose to use this day to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

For this reason there is a demand for secular activities during the Christmas period.

  2. The video captures the fun spirit of ten so well!
David, what are your thoughts on how Ten will build Studio 10’s audience? I understand the cut backs and failure of “Wake Up” but they need a decent lead in? The effort from Rob and the team deserve the numbers!

  3. Great show! Still loving studio 10 great team & with Nartasha too, I’ve definitely made the switch some time ago now, I think they should have more music acts performing on the show. Always fun and good to watch happy 300th eposide too!

  4. @Joshbruni999 The majority of people already know the true meaning of Christmas and don’t necessarily have to be put through a Christian service and bombarded with a priest or pastor’s beliefs and preachings. If people want see a church service they’ll go to church service. The majority of people staying home watching TV obviously prefer to watch something lighter and entertaining for the time of the morning.

  5. This is what annoys me. People like @oceanographer forget that the meaning of Christmas and the spirit of it is rooted in Christianity. (Wow. They share the same 6 letters :O)
It is about celebrating the birth of Christ.
For people who have young children and struggle to get them to church on Christmas Day I would think that that would be the perfect public service. I certainly remember watching it (perhaps not on channel 10) when I was younger.

  6. * correction, looks like they did a rehearsal and TEN have uploaded it instead of the version that went to air. Jonathan Coleman is not wearing a Santa suit at the start of the video in the rehearsal (YouTube) version.

  7. Looks like TEN uploaded a raw feed to YouTube, because the version that aired live appears to have different camera direction and the team are actually in sync with the backing track, also no steadicam issues at the outset.

Go to 1hr 15min into this video on TenPlay: tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/studio-10/season-2014/episode-257

  8. It’s good to finally see some colour on Channel Ten on Christmas morning. Usually on Christmas Day all we’d see on Ten are boring Christian services with a priest or pastor preaching, preaching and preaching until Ten are left with no more viewers.
