Cricket, Carols give Nine summer ratings win.

Ratings: Festive viewing draws the biggest crowds at this time of the year.

2014-12-28_1441Cricket and Carols by Candlelight helped Nine to its first ratings week so far this summer.

Network:
Nine: 29.8
Seven: 25.7
TEN: 20.5
ABC: 18.2
SBS: 5.8

Carols by Candlelight took 1.45m viewers in Overnight ratings, down slightly on 2013’s 1.47m. The Third Test has also scored for Nine, up to 1.3m viewers on Saturday. Big Bash League has also seen TEN hold above 20% network share.

Nine: 21.2
Seven: 17.2
TEN: 13.4
ABC: 12.1
SBS ONE: 4.2

There was also a little shaking up in multichannels with stronger figures for ONE, ABC2, ABC News 24 and SBS 2.

Nine won Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and -yes- Adelaide. Perth remained loyal to Seven.

Nine won Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Seven took Monday and Friday. ABC bettered Seven and TEN on Thursday plus the latter on Wednesday and Saturday.

  1. Have to agree with you @TasTVcameraman. I went to bed half way through Carols and listened to it-ad. free-on the radio, when the good singers came on late in the night. The first 3/4 of the show seemed to be devoted to The Voice contestants. Carols has turned into a Channel 9 cross promotion. And yes the hosts were dismal.

  2. Carols……….I have not watched it all the way through ever since the Today show hosts have hosted. I used to watch it every year without fail, but now it seems to have descended into just Christmas songs…..and bad ones. I guess that what CD’s were invented for.
