MTV Australia threw a bash at their headquarters in East Sydney last night, to celebrate MTV Music, Foxtel Channel 808, becoming available to all Foxtel subscribers on the entry package.
Music lovers were treated to an amazing night of entertainment featuring ARIA Award winners Peking Duk, Aussie hip-hop artist Allday, media personality and DJ Didier Cohen and rising star Helena, as a reward for submitting ‘their take on 808’ via Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #Get808.
After mysterious 808 skywriting began appearing in Sydney’s skies and scantily clad models wearing nothing but 808 body paint walked the ARIA red carpet last week, speculation about who was behind the campaign became red hot.
However, when MTV VJs Krit and Kate Peck took the stage to address the capacity crowd at MTV HQ at precisely 8:08pm last night, all was revealed with the slogan ‘808 is MTV Music!’ before the dynamic duo kicked off an incredible night of music celebration.

Is it Time MTV Launch Another Music Channel to go with MTV Music and MTV Dance???? I think MTV Rocks should be the One.
Now it makes sense. I’ve been seeing 808 logos around for a while but had been hoping it was the return of acid house champs, 808 State. Disappointed now.
