  1. Sounds like screening this movie is a bit of a premonition!
Did watch it last time they rescheduled it and it is a fabulous movie satire.
Hope they decide to reschedule it again soon.

  2. This movie can’t catch a break – last time it was due to screen just as the boston-bombing hit (movie has a run-event as a terrorist target too). Why not just run another viewer-advice thing in front and let it be?

  3. I don’t ever want to see a show about muslim terrorists, especially not a comedy.
I don’t find terrorists remotely funny!
I usually will have a laugh at anything, but this goes one step too far.

    1. Disagree. Satire is all about making a point, usually a political one. Some people may not sit down to a doco or news but they can get the same message through a comedy if it is pointed and well told. We have comedies about death so it’s hard to think of a subject that is off limits. But the golden rule of comedy is also Timing, and this appears to have been at the heart of the decision, understandably.

  4. The film has a scene where customers are taken hostage in a kebab shop by a wannabe terrorist, followed by a police raid and a bungled shootout. It’s uncomfortably close to events this week so I understand dropping it.

  5. Understand it being pulled because of immediate timing, but it should be shown again soon for it is a brilliant piece of satire. I’m currently reading (director) Chris Morris’ biography as I’ve always been a massive fan. Four Lions is a hilarious film and well worth making the time for.

  6. Sill thing is you can go out and rent this on DVD or online, pulling movies for these reasons have little impact in 2014, more so it might lead people to go out and find them to see what the fuss is all about.

Same goes with the movie Sony pulled for different reasons from cinemas, just waiting for it to be ‘leaked’ online now.
