Seven “mistake” hides Nine logo
Nine's logo is here one minute, and gone the next, thanks to some technical wizardry by at Seven.

News wars between rival networks are always hard fought, but it’s beginning to get a little petty if an incident during the Victorian State Election is anything to go by.
Nine News reporter Seb Costello, son of former Treasurer and Nine board director Peter Costello, was covering the election win by incoming premier Daniel Andrews at the Mulgrave Country Club.
But the following night a Seven News story also covered the same moment, including with Costello’s Channel Nine microphone in view.
Magically, the Nine logo had been blocked out despite the footage happily using the answer given by Bob Andrews, the new premier’s proud father.
A Seven spokesperson told TV Tonight, “A mistake was made in the production process.”

these networks sink so low
The sketch where the mic logos got bigger and bigger was from an episode of Degenicide (D Generation Seven Melb) in the 80’s. Michael Veitch was the copper giving a press conference.
The cube has dotty Nine on 4 sides.
i think it was fast forward they did a sketch where the channel 7 and 9 logos got bigger and bigger until they filled the screen
Any Video?
If I was watching the news on ch7 and spotted a ch9 mic, I would immediately switch channels…..good move ch7
The fact that the surround was changed from blue to grey is prob a clue. I suspect that it was done to try to remove any indication that it might possibly be a Nine mike.
Didn’t 7 do this years ago with the Jennifer Hawkins wardrobe malfunction that was captured by channel Ten?
that is the funniest thing i have ever seen in my years of watching and being involved in TV… awesome 7… watch now for nines response… bring on 2015….
Raymond: I can confirm the logo is on all 4 sides of the microphone. I’ve viewed the footage and Seven statement indicates they acknowledge.
For a network falling behind in their news bulletin, presenting pictures that simply don’t exist will damage their credibility.
For 7 it is only a mistake now it has been highlighted. Before then they would hvae been feeling pretty clever with their band aid cover.
Its hardly a mistake, it looks like a totally different angle shot to me.
@Bella – That is so funny. If Seven had used some grey matter they would have pushed the fact that it was TEN’s chairlift that had died, not blurred it out. No sense of humour.
A “mistake” ? Hardly. How childish is this.
Reminds me of a ‘Frontline” (or maybe another show) sketch where the 7 and 9 mics kept getting bigger and bigger.
And the Seven news clip with “First on Seven” all over it, but problem was it carried a TEN logo.
That reminds me of the time when, here in Perth the chair lift at Adventure World broke down and Channel TEN is a sponsor of Adventure World and have their logo on the back of the chair. When Channel 7 reported on the story, they blurred out the TEN logo.
That is pretty juvenile. Seven and Nine behave like two children at times. Why can’t they take their lead from our politicians? – oh, wait. Never mind.
Just how petty can Seven be?
You would think they’d have more important things to worry about.
Like producing a real news bulletin.
A mistake? Or just caught out?
I think that’s a pretty poor comment to be honest.
How is it a “mistake” when you edit out a rivals mic sign ?
