Trioli & Rowland back for ABC News Breakfast

ABC News Breakfast proudly appeals "to those who might want a bit more with breakfast than cash-giveaways and cats doing funny things on YouTube." Ouch.

Joining them again for 2015 are sports presenter Paul Kennedy and weather presenter Vanessa O’Hanlon, who have both been with the program since it launched in 2008.

“What, already?” Trioli said.

Michael Rowland added: “It’s been great being a News Breakfast viewer over the holidays but I can’t wait to get back for what is going to be a cracking year for the show. Also, the studio couch is much more comfortable than our one at home.”

  1. There’s not enough hours in the day for breakfast TV, especially at breakfast time.

If you want an update on the world at the time of day, I suggest RN Breakfast or ABC NewsRadio Breakfast. But nothing is a really good option too.

  2. I saw some utube stuff and twitter feeds on ABC News Breakfast lately so they might want to get down off their high horse before they take a tumble….

  3. Love them, sometimes though when Ms VT is interviewing a guest her continual “interuptive bombastic butting in” cuts off the what interviewee is saying, it’s hard not to toss a frying pan at the teev grrrrrrrrr.

  4. I’m an ABC watcher through and through. Tried watching News Breakfast but it’s as dull as dish water. Rinse and Repeat every half hour. Really badly produced.
Caught a bit with Beverley O’Conner over Christmas/New Year and wasn’t too bad but the regular female host during the year just seems nasty and bitter and makes me switch channel.

  5. Not that I’m complaining; but i was sure i read an item here last year that Virginia was leaving the show to return to radio? She changed her mind?

  6. I’m all for a quality news show in the mornings without Cash giveaways an youtube clips – but News Breakfast is not as good as they claim to be.

Some energy and liveliness needs to be injected into the show. It’s just dull and boring.

Breakfast TV does not need to be dull and boring, BBC Breakfast manages it.

It just needs to be more lively, pacier and better produced. And that couch needs to go,
