Australia Post stamp to mark 30 years of Neighbours

Ramsay Street makes its stamp. But wait, where are Scott & Charlene?

2015-02-18_1112Well this is a lovely idea…..

Australia Post is marking the 30th anniversary of Neighbours with a limited-edition trifold stamp pack.

Comprising three sheets of 70¢ stamps, the pack includes Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), Ryan Moloney (Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi) and Ian Smith (Harold Bishop).

But no, there is no word of Scott (Jason Donovan) and Charlene (Kylie Minogue). Tragic.

TEN Head of Drama, Rick Maier, said: “Just like Australia Post, Neighbours always delivers. We are delighted to see our favourite Australian series honoured in this way. Thirty years of proud Australian drama and we are still going strong.”

Australia Post Philatelic Manager, Michael Zsolt, said: “We trust that the public and especially Neighbours enthusiasts will jump at the opportunity to collect the stamp pack. The trifold stamp pack is a great gift and a highly collectable memento in this 30th anniversary year.”

The Neighbours trifold stamp pack will be available at participating Post Offices, via mail order or online from February 24.

With many well-known characters returning for the show’s 30th anniversary, Neighbours fans have been kept guessing about what the upcoming March storylines will reveal. What has prompted Harold and Nina to return home? Has Madge really risen from the dead? Who will be getting married? And what disaster will change the lives of the Ramsay Street residents forever?

This is a collaboration between FremantleMedia Australia’s Media and Brand Licensing division and Australia Post. FremantleMedia Australia are the producer of Neighbours for Network Ten.

  1. The Neighbours stamps are now available. You can order them online from the Australia Post website. $22.95 is a reasonable price to pay for some TV history. Free delivery in Australia.

  2. Apparently they did something similar for the 20th Anniversary with 10 actors but the actors faces appeared on tabs accompanying the stamps rather on stamps themselves. It may be the same this time.

  3. “Neighbours always delivers” – it hasn’t delivered in the ratings. Home and Away managed to keep their ratings going, what happened with this one. Any suggestions?

  4. Scott (Jason Donovan) and Charlene (Kylie Minogue) already featured on an Australian stamp for the 50 Years of Television issue in 2006. The other five long-serving actors deserve this honour for their time on the show.

  5. Given that Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan spend 99% of their time in the UK and have never been in the show for over 25 years – why the hell would they be honoured on an Australian postage stamp???

Let the UK give them a stamp instead.

He clearly hasn’t had to deal with Australia Post in a while…
