A Nine News logo is at the centre of a stand-off to not broadcast a local footy team on Channel Seven in Perth.

The West Perth Football Club is trying to fight a move by Channel Seven Perth to not broadcast any of its matches, because the team has Nine News logos on their guernseys.
Falcons president Brett Raponi was told by the WA Football Commission the team wouldn’t get any TV coverage while the logo remained on the jumper.
“We are committed to Channel Nine and we are honouring our contract,” Raponi told Fairfax Media.
“The WA Football Commission have strongly indicated they are not happy with us keeping the logo on the jumpers.”
Nine has been expanding its links with local community groups since taking over the channel from WIN Television, in the Seven-stronghold city.
Seven becomes local broadcaster of the game this year, after ABC ended local coverage.
WAFC Chief Operating Officer Nick Sautner said, “The West Australian Football Commission continues to work with West Perth Football Club to ensure their games can be covered on the Seven Network.”
Seven did not respond to enquiries.

Just like when Seven didn’t let Grant Denyer race in a Family Feud sponsored car in a support race at the Bathurst 1000 last year. Petty indeed…
The WAFC Are a joke.
Hope West Perth start selling Nine News T/ Shirts
Meanwhile, all quite happily cover yacht races and that boat with the huge red 7 sail.
For goodness sake Seven, do not be so petty.
Channel 7 trying depriving Channel 9 from sponsoring a grass roots football club is nothing more than childish and petty jealously. There are so many conflicts in sporting circles already so hardly a new issue. Stick fat all
With today’s technology they could easily superimpose “Seven Exclusive” over the top like they do with news footage from Nine.
Pathetic from 7.
