Nine’s upcoming food format has Gordon Ramsay in its sights, according to a report today.
The series, as first revealed by TV Tonight, is a stripped food format set in restaurants.
“I’m happy to say that Endemol is producing a new food show for Channel Nine. It’s in the late stages of development and will start shooting shortly,” Director of Programming Andrew Backwell recently told TV Tonight.
Today News Corp links the swearing Brit with the same project with chats have taken place in the hope of bringing him to Australia. Casting has reportedly been underway in the past fortnight.
Ramsay is arguably the most successful celebrity chef Nine has ever featured.
To be produced by Endemol, it will air later this year.

If he does get involved i think that will be great
Yawn … I think Gordon Ramsay has more than worn out his welcome on TV shows.
Surely there must be a foul-mouthed, bad tempered Australian chef that could do the job.
Nothing ever became of Ch 9’s supposed development of a local version of The Taste. They obviously haven’t learned to stay away from food after that the Bake Off show.
Lets hope that it fairs better than his Maze restaurant that opened in a blaze of publicist at Crown Metropol in Melbourne and later sunk without a trace.
Not a fan of Gordon Ramsey so this will definitely not be on my viewing list. Think there are too many reality cooking shows on the TV now without having more, why cant channel 9 think of something different instead of following other channels in the hope that their show will be better, wonder if it will be a one hit wonder like the show they tried out before The Great Australian Bake off, which was copied from the UK version.
