Rumour: Laurina as first Bachelorette for TEN?

"Dirty Street Pie" could be making a comeback on TEN dating show.

Laurina Fleure, who dropped the words “dirty street pie” in last year’s season of The Bachelor, could be the first Bachelorette, if rumours floated by Fairfax Media turn out to be true.

Fleure recently wrote on her Facebook page that she couldn’t “confirm or deny” any upcoming TV appearances.

“The avid social media user hasn’t posted to any of her official accounts in over a week, further fuelling speculation,” writes the newspaper.

Social media use is prohibited while under contract to Shine Australia.

However casting for the show is still underway, launched recently by CastaSugar, with filming set for May – September.

Laurina has previously said, “It’s not my cup of tea … I don’t think I could do it again because I’d struggle to fall in love in that environment.

“I’d be keen for another reality show, but not a dating one.”

The series is due for a short run on TEN in the fourth quarter.

Update: Laurina posts on Instagram that she has been in hospital undergoing surgery.

  1. I think she’s the perfect choice. She’s obviously attractive, but much more than that she’s very different to most ladies and that makes her much more interesting to watch She was compelling viewing on The Bachelor and that could also be the case on The Bachelorette. You certainly have my vote 10 if you select her.

  2. I find “The Bachelor” unbearable to watch, with all those girls cat fighting.
“The Bachelorette”, however, is all about the hot guys so that will at least keep many viewers watching, even if we don’t like the actual girl in question!
    Shallow? … absolutely not! 🙂

  3. Not the choice I’d make. She wasn’t at all likeable. At the end of the day, the Bachelorette needs to be someone that you genuinely want to see fall in love, and she’s just not it. The girls at the pointy end last year might have done their dash mouthing off to media, but I think someone like Jess or Chantel from last year would be great. Even Amber, who was hot-headed but still way more endearing.

    1. Polarising is exactly what “reality” (screw that, lets call it what is, a competition) loves.

These shows are not about finding love, they are about finding and broadcasting conflict. They truly bring out the ugly side in both viewers and contestants. Which is why I refuse to watch.
