  1. Who was the ‘journo’? I use that term loosely… Who told him he was funny? Who hired him? Where the hell was Angela Bishop? Or at least one of Tens’ US correspondents.

  2. Good on Cate for “keeping it real” … she deserves better than to waste time in pointless interviews … all stars do! If Madonna did the same then everyone would just applaud her!
As for the Red Carpet interviews … “Who are you wearing?” = Who the **** cares! “Who will win?” = “Me I hope!” Now use your brain and ask a real question! 🙂 You tell ’em Cate!
BTW: How do some of these “interviewers” get on TV anyway … certaininy never earned it!

  3. Used to like Cate, but it’s a measure of a person how they treat the cogs in the wheels and Cate is rude and obviously thinks she is a very important person. She needs to be a better person. An Oscar doesn’t mean you have the right to be high-handed with people doing their job. Maybe not take herself so seriously.

    1. In the U.S. they has been a growing movement among women (and supportive men) in the industry about what they are asked say on the red carpet. Rather than always asking fluffy questions, they are requesting journos credit them with some intelligence. I viewed this event with Cate against that backdrop. Frankly, we have some embarrassing and appalling interviewers here who don’t seem to have developed beyond high school. I once saw an awful interview with Dolly Parton – who is one intelligent woman – and she tried desperately to assist the interviewer to do better but, nope, silly trite questions just rolled out.
