Doctor Who marks International Women’s Day

To mark International Women’s Day the BBC has released this picture of the women working on Series 9 of Doctor Who.

Amongst the group are actresses Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez, plus production manager Tracie Simpson, producer Nikki Wilson and director Hettie MacDonald.

Whilst the Doctor is yet to be cast as female, companions including Elisabeth Sladen, Catherine Tate, Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston have been amongst the most memorable.

Not forgetting that she show’s original producer was female, Verity Lambert.
