Ex-Labor leader Mark Latham may have been doing an audition for Gogglebox when he turned TV critic on radio yesterday, telling Triple M that Gus Worland: Marathon Man was the worst TV he had seen.
“What I want to talk about is the best shit TV in the history of the entertainment industry. Gus Worland, come on down,” he told the Grill Team (Gus Worland, Mark Geyer and Matthew Johns).
He then described Worland’s earlier cricket television shows as being as “bad as warm pommy beer”, and as “bad as a stinking stale Madras curry”.
“And then I saw Gus Worland: Marathon Man. Fair dinkum, it was the worst TV in the history of the media,” Latham said.
He even said David Gyngell “…and I want to make you an offer, to put on a new variety show, prime time chann … ”
But he was cut off air before “Gus Worland: Lovable F***wit” could be broadcast.

Might have been very tongue in cheek as he appeared on Gus Worlands radio show lol
And to think that Latham could very well have been our PM !
He tells it how he sees it 🙂
He would have made a terrible diplomat, but I get the impression he would have been honest with the Australian public.
The more interesting part of this story is they are now talking about having a charity boxing event. That would be worth watching.
Well, “Lovable” is taking it a bit too far…
After reading the first two sentences I thought Latham was saying Gogglebox was the worst show in TV history. He wouldn’t have been wrong there.
