The AFL Footy Show will unveil a new set tomorrow night, when it returns for its 22nd season.

Joining Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw, Sam Newman, Shane Crawford and Billy Brownless for 2015 are ex Before the Game regular Dave Hughes and Carlton’s Chris Judd.

A one-eyed Carlton fan, Hughesy’s love of footy now brings him to The Footy Show where he will entertain viewers with his unique take on the game we all love.

Whether entering the inner sanctums of AFL clubs to give the players (and a few coaches) a pep talk, or joining the boys live in studio for stand-up pieces, Hughesy will keep the AFL world on its toes.

Hosts Garry Lyon and James Brayshaw are back to control the mayhem, while Sam Newman will keep on, well, being Sam.

Essendon young gun Dyson Heppell joins the panel alongside Juddy – how are the Bombers coping as D-day looms for the supplements saga?

Billy Brownless, The Footy Show’s all-time most-capped panellist, is back for another season as is serial prankster and newly minted Hawthorn Hall of Famer, Shane Crawford.

It’s been a busy off-season and award-winning journalist and newsbreaker Damian Barrett comes armed with some pre-season bombshells.

Street Talk gets off to a cracking start this year when Sam meets Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, and favourite segments Sam’s Mailbag and Almost Footy Legends return for another blockbuster season.

Thursday, March 19, at 8.30pm on Nine (check local guides).

  1. So over hearing about Essendon. Will be ignoring that segment and any news related to Essendon in the future. Will probably watch and see if the show is truly refreshed rather than cosmetic. If there is little in the way of improvements and the episode begins to drag along like it has been since the move to 8.30pm then will limit my viewing to Damien Barrett’s news segment. Not sure if the beard is working for Juddy.

    1. Must be the new look for the desert heads – think McVeigh and Chappy. Agree with you on the Dons – don’t even open an Essendon link now. Up in Sydney, I record and whiz through Sam’s BS. Hughes is a retrograde move – just plain annoying.
