SBS to announce Eurovision artist(s) on Thursday

It’s exciting times at SBS.

Mardi Gras fever hits fever pitch this weekend with a network ‘float’ on Saturday and broadcast on Sunday night.

But first there’s a certain Eurovision announcement to make, with the big reveal of just who is representing us.

SBS is hosting a press conference on Thursday morning at the Sydney Opera House attended by Managing Director Michael Ebeid, Director of Blink TV Paul Clarke and the mysterious act in question.

UPDATED: This will be Live broadcast around the country on SBS ONE:
9:30am NSW Vic, Tas ACT
9am SA
8:30am Qld
8am NT
6:30am WA

The press release indicates SBS will announce Australian Eurovision Artist(s) ….hinting that there could be more than one performer.

It’s not yet clear if the song itself will be revealed but TV Tonight understands organisers are hoping to be in a position to do just that.

  1. I’m not that bothered by who represents us as I doubt we will win whoever it is. My main concern is making sure that Lee Lin Chin is the presenter of the Australian points during the final.

  2. I hope it’s not a well known star like Kylie. Recent history shows that the more famous ones usually end up at the bottom of the leaderboard, something the UK would know all too well.
