Next month BBC First dusts off UK comedy Roger and Val starring Dawn French and Alfred Molina for an Australian screening.

Each episode is set in the half hour after Roger and Val arrive home from work, played out in real time with no laugh track.

The series had two seasons, played out in 2010 and 2011 with French receiving a BAFTA nomination.

BBC First will air double episodes in back to back seasons.

This highly original comedy stars acting luminaries Dawn French and Alfred Molina who expose the comedic minutiae of everyday domestic life. It will resonate with everyone who shares their home with a ‘significant other’.

Spend a real-time half hour with Roger and Val as they come through the door after a day at work. Successfully married for over 20 years, this couple is beautifully in tune with each other. They rely on one another for distraction from any woes, and – it has to be said, they are somewhat lazy.

Each episode begins with one half of the couple already at home, and the sound of the front door opening as the other arrives to join them. What happens next charts in real time the first transitional half hour that this remarkable couple spend together when they are re-united after their respective days at work.

Sundays at 8.30pm from May 10.
