For the first time in its history Home and Away films in Canberra, in a storyline beginning tomorrow night to commemorate the ANZAC centenary.

  1. Having just been at The War Memorial last weekend its good to see them do this story. I think there are people out there who need to understand and learn about what went on in those wars and circumstances were a bit different to todays events and different reasons why they signed up for war.

Its also good they give Alf a storyline. I remember in the early years they had a story about ANZAC Day where he and Tom went to a service and they had flashbacks.

  2. A good tribute from Home and Away but it seems that viewers are fatigued with all the Anzac themed programming and sadly ratings are way down for anything related to the Anzac centenary commemorations.

  3. Actually this story began last Thursday.
And finally someone other then the Braxton clan get an away location…. Can’t wait for them to do this, promo looks amazing hoping that it is.

  4. So after 25 years they bring up this side of Alf? I know a lot of Vietnam vets don’t talk about it, but surely it would have played a role in his life… interesting though

    1. Considering the bile heaped on Vietnam vets until quite recently by the bogans in the community it’s understandable why this storyline hasn’t been used.

    2. In the early years it was mentioned that he was a Vietman vet. Its good to see they are revisiting it esp this year being the 100 years of the ANZACS….
