On Monday Channel Nine stars from all over the country will join the first live telethon in Adelaide since 1989 to raise more than $2 million in the Team Kids Easter Appeal for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The six and a half hour appeal will go to air Live on Channel Nine Adelaide and be seen across south-east regional South Australia on the WIN Network and throughout the Spencer Gulf and in Broken Hill on the Southern Cross Austereo Network.

The appeal will also be streamed live across Australia on www.9jumpin.com.au.

Easter Monday will begin at 5am with the Today Show broadcasting live from Adelaide. The Today Show team will be live from the Kevin Crease Studio in North Adelaide and Steve Jacobs will report from the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The Team Kids Easter Appeal will officially start at 10.30am, hosted by Lisa Wilkinson, Richard Wilkins, Sylvia Jeffreys, Tim Gilbert, Ross Greenwood, Kate Collins and Brenton Ragless.

The telethon will open with a knockout live performance by Justice Crew followed by performances from Eddie Perfect, Rhonda Burchmore, Tim Campbell and Anthony Callea.

The day will continue with performances by Bob Downe, Anne Wills, The Boomstars, The Germein Sisters, Raymond Crowe and the cast of the international smash hit Le Noir before they commence their run at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

Music superstar Tim Omaji will close the day performing two of his mega hits.

Giving their time to raise donations on the Celebrity Phone Hub will be online fitness sensation Kayla Itsines; actress Michala Banas; Adelaide United’s Nigel Boogaard and Eugene Galekovic; former Adelaide 36ers Brett Maher and Mark Davis; Adelaide Thunderbirds Renae Hallinan, Maddy Proud and Leigh Waddington; celebrity cook Poh Ling Yeow; funnyman George Kapiniaris; Mr South Australia Keith Conlon; entertainers Tim Campbell, Anthony Callea, Rhonda Burchmore, Anne Wills and Eddie Perfect; from Kids’ WB Lauren Phillips; Stephen Rowe, Jane Reilly and Mark Aiston from 5AA; Peter Goers from the ABC; Justice Crew and many more.

One of the biggest undertakings on the day will be a makeover of the Boylan Ward, the hospital’s youth mental health ward, by contestants of The Block Triple Threat. Adelaide’s Tim and Anastasia, Queensland’s Jess and Ayden and Sydney’s Josh and Charlotte will team up to change the face of the ward and provide a space for the patients that is safe and therapeutic. Block favourites Phil Rankine and Amity Dry will join them as they transform three common areas of the ward in only nine hours.

Virginia Langeberg, Will McDonald, Steve Jacobs and Keith Conlon will be at the Telstra Call Centre in Pirie Street where over 220 volunteers will man the phones to receive donations.

Tim Gilbert, Warren Tredrea and Kym Dillon will host live from the Channel Nine Courtyard, where viewers can donate money to have their favourite celebrities dunked. There will also be a celebrity sand dig in a giant Disney sand sculpture, thanks to Sandstorm events and the City of Onkaparinga.

Speed painter Brad Blaze will create artworks in the courtyard throughout the day which will be auctioned online to raise money for the hospital.

The Advertiser and Sunday Mail’s Matt Gilbertson will host the Hilton Adelaide Green Room, where he will chat one-on-one with the stars of the appeal with his quick wit and sometimes acid tongue.

The Team Kids Easter Appeal aims to raise more than $2 million to help sick South Australian children and their families. Funds raised will go towards the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation, the official charity of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The foundation is committed to ensuring that children and their families have access to the very best in medical care and support services at a time they need it most.
