The French Open gets underway this weekend on FOX Sports screening Live HD coverage from Roland Garros, including both the Ladies’ and Men’s Finals, through to Sunday, June 7.

Australia’s exciting crop of young guns will carry the local hopes in Paris, led by rising star, Nick Kyrgios, buoyed by his career-best win over Roger Federer earlier this month.

The 20-year-old will be seeded for the first time in a grand slam along with fellow Aussies Bernard Tomic and Australia’s No 1 female player Samantha Stosur.

FOX Sports will be the only place to cheer on the local charge with start to finish prime-time Live and High Definition coverage starting Sunday at 7.00pm EST.

In addition, each night viewers can recap all the previous day’s action with daily highlights before FOX Sports begins its Live match coverage.

FOX Sports will also replay all the big matches across the day delivering round-the-clock coverage of the year’s second grand slam.

World No 1 Novak Djokovic and a red-hot Andy Murray will be the two to chase in the men’s field while World No 1 Serena Williams and defending champion Maria Sharapova will once again be a force in the women’s draw.

Fans can stay across all the action with dedicated FOX Sports News 500 segments hosted by Adam Peacock and Davis Cup Captain Wally Masur, who will deliver the best analysis and interviews each weekday at 8.00am EST and 9.00am EST on Saturday and Sunday.

  1. Eurosport has a choice of 15 courts for UK viewers. That has to be a record – think it was 10 for Wimbledon last year and just 7 for the Australian Open.

  2. @matt Fox pulled back on its Australian Open coverage a couple of years back for the simple reason that the investment it was making wasn’t being returned in ratings. I imagine the decisions surrounding the French Open coverage are for largely the same reason.

  3. Would love to see Seven or another network pick this event up. Yes its the Grand Slam no one cares much about here but it would be great to see it on FTA.

  4. Looking like an even lazier coverage this year. No red button with a 2nd court (really should be a choice of 4 courts). No recap/highlight in-studio show (bet that highlights show is just a world feed highlights). And I bet they will take the world feed for the live coverage showing non stop action of just 1 court missing out on all the exciting matches elsewhere. What they should be doing is having a studio coverage from Fox Sports themselves going from court to court showing the best matches/Australian matches, this coverage just feels lazy. They have been better with showing the Aussie matches but it could be so much better. And Fred Stolle is surely going again at age 120, one of the worst commentators in sport. Grand slams are the pinnacle of our sport and Fox treat it with contempt, wouldn’t do that with any other major events.
